The Parliamentary Intergroup organised an online event on 9 April 2025 to discuss the European Commission’s proposal to modify the conservation status of the wolf in the European Union, changing it from “strictly protected” to “protected”.
“Downlisting the Wolf: A Way Forward for the EU”, was co-organised by the European Federation for Hunting and Conservation (FACE) and the European Landowners’ Organization (ELO). It gathered over 250 online participants, including policymakers, stakeholders, and experts, to explore the implications of this significant legislative proposal.
The event featured a wide range of speakers, including policymakers and stakeholders representing diverse perspectives on the issue. CoCo’s project coordinator Dr. John Linnell presented the concept of coexistence promoted by the project.
