From 2–6 June 2025, the CoCo project participated in the Wolves Across Borders Conference in Lunteren, the Netherlands. The conference was organised by a Dutch and Belgian Consortium and brought together experts, policymakers and community representatives from across Europe and beyond to discuss the latest developments in wolf ecology, management, and the challenges and opportunities of coexistence.

The programme was structured around four central themes: wolves and society, wolves in natural and cultural landscapes, wolf management and innovation, and wolf legislation and policy. These themes reflect current key issues of human-wolf coexistence by examining ecological, social and legal aspects as well as exploring innovative management strategies.

CoCo contributed to a dynamic exchange of ideas during plenary sessions, workshops, and panel discussions, exploring ways to encourage dialogue and reimagine the future of coexistence with large carnivores together with the participants.

CoCo would like to thank all the participants for sharing their insights and experiences. Events like this serve as a reminder that effective coexistence is only possible through open dialogue and collaboration.
