Speaking to Farmers and Shepherds about Livestock Depredation

The CoCo project is pleased to announce an upcoming webinar in collaboration with the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP), a key CoCo partner. 

Chaired by John Linnell, CoCo project lead, this webinar will explore insights from extensive fieldwork with over 1,000 livestock breeders and shepherds across Europe. The webinar will feature presentations on real-world experiences of coexistence with large carnivores, including wolves in Asturias, Spain, and bears in Prespa National Park, Greece, shared by CoCo partners Agrifood Research and Technology Center of Aragon (CITA) and Callisto NGO. Daniel Martín Collado, coordinator of the CoCo project in Spain, will share findings from this ambitious six-month research initiative and discuss how the data will inform future coexistence strategies.

6th Dinaric Balkan Pindos Platform Conference

Downlisting the Wolf: A way forward for the EU - The “Biodiversity, Hunting, Countryside” Intergroup

This online event discussed the European Commission’s proposal to modify the conservation status of the wolf in the European Union, changing it from “strictly protected” to “protected”. CoCo’s project coordinator John Linnell presented the concept of coexistence promoted by the project.

New Progress Report: Strengthening Transnational Collaboration for Large Carnivores in the Dinaric-Balkan-Pindos Region
