Organiser: Dinaric Balkan Pindos Large Carnivore Platform Secretariat (adelphi research and Carnivora Magna) with PPNEA and Albania’s Ministry of Environment, funded by the European Commission and supported by WWF-Adria.

The seventh Dinaric-Balkan-Pindos Large Carnivore Platform Conference brought together around 70 experts, researchers, policymakers, and conservation practitioners in Tirana, Albania. The conference was co-hosted by Albania's Ministry of Environment, with support from PPNEA. The conference took place back-to-back with the Large Carnivore Habitat Management International Conference of the 4PETHABECO Interreg project (25–26 February 2026).

A central focus of the meeting was the continued development of a shared Action Plan for the platform, with thematic working groups addressing:

  • Livestock protection, including input from the CoCo project and the LIFE Safe-Grazing project.
  • Wildlife intervention teams.
  • Stakeholder collaboration.
  • Connectivity and habitat quality, including ecological corridors and cross-border cooperation.

The second day featured species-specific working groups on lynx, wolf, and bear.

CoCo was well represented at the event. Katrina Marsden, Work Package Lead for Dissemination and Co-creation at adelphi research, was part of the DiBaPi Secretariat team and contributed to the thematic working group session on livestock protection, presenting inputs from the CoCo project alongside Spyros Psaroudas from Callisto and Rok Černe from the Slovenia Forest Service, who is also a member of CoCo's Advisory Board.
